Best Mineral Make Up - Korres Wild Rose Mineral Foundation
By cottontail
The most recent and newly coveted product from Korres is the Wild Rose Mineral Foundation SPF 30. Mineral makeup fans have been flocking from their usual makeup to try this new hot item in natural cosmetics. Korres, Greece’s oldest homeopathic pharmacy, creates high tech natural skincare and cosmetics that utilize powerful earth derived ingredients to create healthy beautiful skin. Since the brand began offering their products in the states, a loyal cult following has quickly ensued and Korres mineral makeup has made its way to the top of the list.
Here’s what you are getting with this new product by Korres:
Korres mineral makeup is a breathable loose powder that will be light weight, hide signs of aging, protect you from the sun, and give you a fresh luminous glow.
Korres Wild Rose Mineral Foundation is an excellent choice for fine lines, wrinkles, acne, and oily skin. Sensitive skin will also greatly appreciate the mineral makeup light and natural approach to flawless skin.
Buying quality makeup is not about buying the most expensive product, it is about finding that product that not only looks great but also offers real qualifiable benefits to your skin.
Here is an in depth exploration of the ingredients in Korres Wild Rose Mineral Foundation:
Wild Rose Extract, the namesake ingredient found in Korres Wild Rose Mineral Foundation, offers you the powerful anti-aging benefits of Vitamin C. According to their website, Korres claims that “ Wild Rose Extract is a potent, natural source of Vitamin C that significantly diminishes fine lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation and resurfaces skin, revealing a soft and radiant complexion.” Unlike many cosmetic brands, this claim is actually grounded in science.
Studies by the University of Leicester and the Institute for Molecular and Cellular Biology in Portugal conducted recently found that Vitamin C does indeed have a positive effect on the skin, in particular, with skin generation. They also found that Vitamin C on the skin safeguards the skin cell DNA, helping to prevent skin damage. That sounds pretty anti aging to me.
Korres also lists other beneficial ingredients including amethyst and citrine, which “stimulate the skin’s microcirculation giving it a healthier, rejuvenated appearance.” When I see ingredients listed that I am not familiar with, I tend to consult Ruth Winter, author of “A Consumer’s Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredients.” She knows what she’s talking about and she tells you exactly what you’re dealing with, why it’s used, and any health hazards associate with that ingredient.
I consulted Ruth’s book where I learned that amethyst consists of mostly silicone dioxide and is often used as an abrasive.
While I’m sure that it’s quantity in the Korres Wild Rose Mineral Foundation hardly qualifies it to really act abrasively on the skin, it helps explain Korres’ claim that this ingredient will stimulate the skin’s circulation. Nothing about that quality is negative.
In fact, both amethyst and citrine are forms of silicone dioxide, which is a form of the natural mineral silica. Now there’s a word makeup enthusiasts understand. Silica is almost always used in mineral makeup for a very good reason. Silica has a reflective quality that goes smoothly on the skin and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Also, silica works especially well at absorbing oil, making for a lasting application and reduced shine.
It is funny how product marketing works, isn’t it? Korres’ marketing team did an excellent job of listing amethyst and citrine as product highlights, both of which sound lovely, when what they are actually alluding to is silica.
Whether we say silica or citrine, the bottom line is your skin is going to look luminous, younger, and will get that oil problem under control.
Lastly, Korres Wild Rose Mineral Foundation has an SPF 30 and contains Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide.
Essentially, these ingredients in Korres mineral makeup add color and are the SPF ingredient. Both Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide are considered safe, natural, chemical free sunscreen ingredients that together block UVB and UVA rays. The added SPF makes this mineral foundation a great addition to your daily routine to protect you from harmful rays of the sun.

Comments? I'd Love To Hear From You :)
Nice hub. Have you ever tried Bare Escentuals from Sephora? I use it and its pretty good.
Hi Tracy! Sorry it took me so long to respond! I have tried Bare Escentuals! One of the main differences on the ingredient side is that BE uses talc and Korres does not which is healthier for the skin. :)
Great Hub Tracy! I have used Bare Essentuals before and wasn't that impressed with the product. I will have to give Korres and see how I like it.
