The adage “knowledge is power” really applies to this book. White doesn’t waste your time with anecdotes or accolades. Instead, he takes a no b.s. approach to tell you exactly what you need to do and how.

This book is highly recommended for any artist who is unsure of how to start their career in the art world. The focus of “Breaking Into the Art World” is mainly for the artist who has honed their artistic skills and is in search for the business savvy.

Brian Marshall White will give you step by step instructions from preparing your materials, packaging, display, all the way through to sales, costing, selling on consignment, and art galleries. He even takes the time to talk about HTML and web development.

He is optimistic but also extremely realistic- and most importantly- he is a fellow artist who started from the beginning without any traditional artist training. Still, with his artistic talent and determined mind, this artist found a very realistic way to not only make it work but make it work well.

The book carries a positive tone throughout because Brian Marshall White wants you to know that with a little bit of hard work and dedication to your craft, you too can make a living as an artist and break into the art world.
